The Montana Supreme Court and the State Bar of Montana recently released the State’s 2014 attorney pro bono report. The report details the involvement of Montana attorneys in pro bono work across the state and provides detailed information on the types of pro bono work being done around the state.
The dedication that Montana attorneys show to pro bono service continues to set a gold standard. In fact, this year the report shows a significant increase in the number of attorneys providing free legal services over past years. According to the report, Montana attorneys volunteered in excess of 87,000 hours of free legal services to low-income Montanans across the state in 2014. The report also shows that 94% of attorneys who volunteer their legal services report that the experience was a positive one.
With only 13 full time staff attorneys, Montana Legal Services relies on pro bono attorneys to help bridge the gap in access to justice for low income Montanans. The report released by the Montana Supreme Court and the State Bar of Montana shows that Montana attorneys continue to step up to the plate to help out a neighbor in need.
